The News of the World are reporting that Sunderland are ready to make an offer for Tottenham Hotspur striker Robbie Keane.

The Republic of Ireland international could be stripped of the club captaincy at White Hart Lane after he allegedly helped to organise the Dublin Christmas party, when Harry Redknapp had told his players there would be no party this year.

Keane is valued at around £12million, which is within the Black Cats financial reach.  Aston Villa are also said to be interested, but would have to sell before they could raise the finds for the 29-year-old.

Would you be happy for Robbie Keane to leave Spurs for £12million?  Have your say below

DO IT!!!!! for 12 mill, we could actually get someone who still has some passion for football. Sell Him and Pav and bye Chamack or Pandev. Imagine how much of the bench Crouchy could warm if he laid down….

Yes I’ll rather let Keane go, and play Pav. I think we cannot say Pav is a flop, it’s very unfair when he hasnt got a chance on the pitch. With Modric back we have a player of guile, if Keane can go for 12m we can get another good central defender into the team. I’ve never looked at Keane in the same way again given the manner he left the club for LoserFools.
