Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Hossam Ghaly is reported to have tested positive for a banned substance.
The Egyptian midfielder, currently playing his football in his homeland for Al Nassr, tested positive following a cup tie against Al Hilal last month.
“Al Nassr received a notification from the Saudi Football Association’s disciplinary committee that Ghaly had tested positive for a banned substance,” Ghaly’s agent Nader Shwaki was quoted as saying by Egyptian reporters.
“Another sample of Ghaly’s blood will be examined this week as the club wait to find out the nature of the substance. There must be something wrong because Hossam is a professional who is fully aware of the gravity of using banned substances.”
