Hull close to Mason deal

Hull City are said to be in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over the signing of midfielder Ryan Mason.

The 25-year-old came through the ranks at White Hart Lane but has found himself down in the pecking order in the heart of the Spurs midfield, finding himself behind the likes of Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and recent signing Victor Wanyama.

If Mason were to make the move to Hull, he would join Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore as former Spurs players who have made the switch to the Tigers.

Bournemouth are also said to be keen on the player who has yet to make an appearance for Spurs this season.

Mason seems to divide opinion among Spurs fans on whether he’s actually good enough to cut it at the level expected of him.  Personally I feel he’s too lightweight, takes the easy sideways pass opinion and seems obsessed in trying to put in a heavy challenge which always leads to a booking.
