Kane set to be rested against West Ham

Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that he is likely to rest Harry Kane for Wednesday’s up coming London EFL Cup tie at Wembley against West Ham.

Kane dropped to the floor towards the end and left the field holding his hamstring as he was substituted late on during our 4-1 demolition of Liverpool at Wembley, a game where he contributed another Man of the Match performance and added two more Premier League goals to take his tally to 13 for the season.

However Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino moved to quell fears and it wasn’t as bad as it first appeared. The Argentine tactician said: “He was just tired. After Madrid and playing again, in the end. it was normal.

Pochettino added “Maybe I will rest him against West Ham. We have ahead many games. Wednesday, then Manchester United, then Real Madrid again and then Crystal Palace”
“It’s important to know that he played two international games as well. He is so professional but he is not a machine. But it was another fantastic performance from him.

Pochettino was also keen to stress that yesterday’s performance was a team effort. He said “I am so happy with the effort of the whole team. After Madrid, to be ready again for a big game was fantastic.
“I am so pleased for the team and for our fans because we are starting to change the feeling here at Wembley; starting to feel it is our home, which is so important for the rest of the season.”

It is a very busy period now for the lads and Mauricio would be wise to rest a few. The hammers will step it up but surely we will be too strong fot Slaven Billic’s men
