Kane’s international award adds to “memorable” year

Harry Kane added another feather to his cap yesterday when was voted the 2017 Vauxhall England men’s player of the year after scoring seven times in six appearances for his country.

An article by talkSPORT describes how the 24-year-old won 75 percent of the England Supporters Club’s votes having netted braces against France and Malta, and scoringin fixtures with Scotland, Slovenia and Lithuania.

He added: “To play your part in reaching the finals of a World Cup is every young footballer’s dream and I’d like to thank all of my international team-mates for the part they played in that journey.”

The article adds that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was named the under-21s player of the year having helped Aidy Boothroyd’s team reach the semifinals of the Euros during the summer.Pickford, who went on to win a senior cap against Germany in November, added: “It’s great to win the award. I felt I had a good year. I tried my best and put in some good performances.”
