Redknapp backs Kane for Spurs stay

Harry Redknapp has told talkSPORT he doesn’t believe Harry Kane will leave Tottenham anytime soon.

The article describes how the striker, who hit 56 goals in 2017 – more than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues – has been consistently linked with moves away from the club, with Real Madrid reportedly keeping tabs on his availability.

However the article says Redknapp, who gave Kane his Spurs debut in 2011 in a 0-0 draw with Hearts in the Europa League, insisted he can’t see the player moving on right now, especially if he’s given a bumper new contract.

“I don’t see Harry Kane being a player who leaves Tottenham,”:Redknapp said
“I think he’s happy there. If he gets a good contract and he’s looked after I don’t seem him chasing big dreams elsewhere.

Redknapp added: “Tottenham beat Real Madrid this season in the Champions League. At Barcelona, with the players they have got there and the way they play [would he fit in]?Tottenham are a big club, they are in the top four or five clubs in this country so I would think he’s quite happy. His life is probably fantastic at the moment.”

The article goes on to add that with Spurs looking at giving the striker a pay rise, Redknapp believes he should be getting a hefty sum for his incredible form in front of goal.
He added: “Well, with Raheem Sterling they are talking about £250,000 a week so Harry Kane has got to be £300,000 a week.
“It’s great for Tottenham if they can hang onto their players.”
