Rumour Mill: Second Bite at Moussa Dembele?

According to a report from HITC Sport, Spurs are set to make a second attempt to sign Moussa Dembele from Scottish champions Celtic.

The article bases it’s theory on the betting odds released by Skybet. Tottenham have gone to 5/1 to sign the 20 year old striker who scored 30 goals in Scotland this season despite picking up an injury. For the previous month, Spurs had sat at 7/1. The sudden change in likelihood in Tottenham’s favour suggests a move may be on the cards. However, Chelsea remain the most likely candidates to pick up the Frenchman’s signature being priced at 13/8.

Both London clubs were linked with Dembele in January, but failed to finalise a deal, which caused Dembele to announce his stay at Celtic in dramatic fashion on Twitter. Now though, according to the Sun, the Scottish side are willing to cash in on the France Under 21s forward.

Celtic recently finished their season as invincibles, going the entire campaign unbeaten in the league, and are now just one more victory away from completing a stunning treble trophy-haul. Dembele’s role in this success is undeniable, having scored in every competition Celtic played in, including the Champions League, which they exited early.

Tottenham will of course be looking to bolster their attacking options after Summer signing Vincent Janssen struggled to make his mark. Dembele, at just 20 years of age, could be the perfect addition ahead of next season’s conquest for silverware.

Do you think this would be a good move? Or should we look to strengthen other areas?
