Rumour Mill: Monaco Star to be Tottenham’s Big Summer Signing?

According to an article written by The Sun, Tottenham are interested in signing 21 year old Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, in spite of whatever price-tag the French champions may put on him.

Thomas Lemar has been in outstanding form this season scoring 14 goals and creating a further 17 en-route to crowning Monaco champions of Ligue 1. Two of those goals came in the Champions League where Monaco reached the semi finals despite being 4th seeds when the groups were drawn.

Both of those efforts came against Tottenham, home and away, and now, as reported by The Sun, Mauricio Pochettino is keen on bringing Lemar to Wembley next season, where he looked oh so comfortable against us.

The article cites French newspaper L’Equipe, revealing that Tottenham have made contact with Lemar’s representatives to see if a deal would be possible. Spurs have a larger pot of spending money this Summer and are apparently willing to spend a large chunk on one influential attacking player.

Lemar is both young and pacey, and held in high regard by many reputable footballing giants across Europe. Tottenham may need to compete with the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid and arch-rivals Arsenal for the exciting youngster’s signature.

Of all the players Spurs have been linked with ahead of the Summer transfer window, which one would you want to see at Tottenham the most? Would it be Thomas Lemar? If so, why?
