Rumour Mill: Spurs Boost For Meyer?

According to BleacherReport, Tottenham may be receiving a boost in their attempts to sign German midfielder Maximilian Meyer from Shcalke 04 this Summer.

As reported by Ouest-France, Schalke are rumoured to be on the brink of signing Nantes midfielder Amine Harit, which, if true, could possibly pave the way out of the club for 21 year old Max Meyer.

This is good news for Tottenham Hotspur, as papers have been reporting a link between Meyer and the North-London club for over a month, most recently by Football.London.

If the rumours are true, then the likelihood of Meyer leaving Schalke has possibly been increased by the prospective arrival of 20 year old Harit, who will rival Meyer for game-time as both the youngsters play in central and left midfield.

The German international scored 2 goals and chipped in with a further 2 assists in all his 39 appearances for Schalke last season.

According to The Guardian, Meyer could be available for as little as £17 million, as opposed to the reported £39 million price-tag from last season, a figure that’s more than halved due to Meyer’s refusal to extend his contract with the German club.
