Rumour Mill: Suso In, Lamela Out?

According to Skysports, Mauricio Pochettino’s pursuit of AC Milan star Suso could be aided by the potential sale of Erik Lamela to Milan’s rivals Inter.

Erik Lamela has been injured since October last year and still faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines before returning to full fitness in Winter.

However, Italian club Inter Milan remain keen on the 25 year old’s signature this Summer, and according to SkySports, the feeling might just be mutual.

A brief transfer update uploaded to the SkySports website revealed that Erik Lamela would welcome a return to Italy, where he used to play his football for Roma before joining Spurs in 2013.

The update also suggested that Lamela’s exit could pave the way in for 23 year old AC Milan winger Suso, who is still yet to sign a new contract at the San Siro, with his current deal running out in 2019.

In addition to this, Italian outlet FCInterNews.it reports that Tottenham have already made a bid somewhere in the region of £17.6 million for the Spanish attacking midfielder, while Inter Milan have contacted Spurs over the availability of injured forward Erik Lamela.

The also Italian news outlet FantaGazetta, reports similar news that Inter Milan are greatly encouraged by Tottenham’s apparent pursuit of AC’s Suso, as they feel as though Suso’s arrival in North-London would signal the end of Lamela’s career at the club.

I’m a little surprised SkySports have been taken by this, but hypothetically speaking, would you move Lamela on as dead wood? Or do you feel as though Lamela still has something to offer Tottenham?
