Rumour Mill: Vorm On His Way Out?

According to an article written by HITC Sport, Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm may be on the move this Summer, with local rivals West Ham United a possible destination.

Tottenham’s decision to pursue the permanent signing of 22 year old Espanyol shot-stopper Pau Lopez may have implications for veteran goalie Michel Vorm. It has been reported by HITC Sport that Vorm could realistically lose his place on the bench next season if the deal goes through, which is looking likely, as Pochettino would look to gradually integrate the Spaniard into his first team plans.

Vorm has been a reliable replacement for Spurs skipper Hugo Lloris ever since signing for the club in 2014. Last season, Vorm made 5 appearances in the league and conceded just 3 goals and in 11 overall appearances, Vorm kept an impressive 6 clean sheets.

West Ham are reportedly an interested party in the Dutch goalkeeper, subject to conditions surrounding their own man between the sticks Adrian, who is rumoured to be leaving the club this Summer. Should the Spanish ‘keeper move on, West Ham may very well attempt to strike a deal with Spurs over the transfer of Vorm, who originally cost Tottenham £5 million.

At this stage, this is all mere speculation, but I’d hope Vorm would stay with Spurs. Even if he wasn’t getting the game-time he deserves, I feel he could play a role in the development of younger goalkeepers at the club, even including Pau Lopez, if he joins us. But what do you think?
