Son has proved Murphy wrong

Former Spurs and England midfielder Danny Murphy has said that he doubted Heung-min Son’s ability when he first signed for the club.

Writing in his column for The London Evening Standard Murphy said: “A couple of years ago I doubted Heung-min Son’s end product a bit, but he has improved on that massively and has got better and better under Mauricio Pochettino”

People are now starting to take notice of the Koreans ability and his importance to the team. Murphy added: “He has been sensational of late. He has got fantastic balance and ability to go on his left or right foot, which makes him really hard to play against. He’s a good athlete and has got so much confidence at the moment”

Murphy went on to highlight that the return from injury to a score of key men has been vital for an every improving Spurs. He said: “Tottenham are getting players fit at an important time, with big games coming up in the Premier and Champions Leagues.Mousa Dembele was as good as he has looked in a while against Everton last weekend and Victor Wanyama is back.

He added: “All of a sudden, Spurs have started to get some players back and I do not think Toby Alderweireld will be that long away. Before you know it, they will look a bit stronger”

He goes on to say how Southampton are going to want to put right their 5-2 defeat against us at Wembley on Boxing Day, however with Son and Harry Kane flying, Spurs will fancy themselves.
