Spurs interested in Moura, No deal forthcoming

An article by ESPN says we are interested in Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura but do not currently expect to sign him this month.

Brazilian Moura, 25, has been told he is surplus to requirements at PSG after making just six appearances this season and coach Unai Emery told Marca: “I spoke with Lucas. With all respect towards him, I think that he has no other options here and should look for another club, because he’s a great player.”

Moura himself told L’Equipe recently he is unhappy at PSG and described his limited playing time as “a brutal blow.”He said: “I’m gutted that I’m no longer playing, to no longer be able to express myself as I was doing before.

He added: “But it doesn’t matter where I end up, I know what I’m capable of. I didn’t become an international by chance.”

The article goes on to say L’Equipe suggest Moura, who earns around £75,000-a-week at the Parc des Princes, is valued at €30 million by the French Champions.

The article does say however at present, Spurs do not expect Moura to join this month, although the club do have an interest in him and will continue to monitor his situation in the final days of this transfer window.

The article goes on to say that the player’s agent, Herminio Menendez, told Spanish daily publication Estadio Deportivo that Real Betis were interested and added: “A Premier League move over Betis? I am not aware of anything like that. There are several clubs in England interested in Lucas, though. We will have to see how it develops.”

It also adds that French paper Le Parisien reported that Betis had made an offer of €18m plus bonuses, taking the deal to around €30m.

The article adds that we are also interested in Bordeaux winger Malcom, 20, but the Ligue 1 strugglers have said he will not leave this month. “Malcom will stay with Bordeaux this winter, that is a certainty,”:president Stephane Martin told SFR Sport.

He added:”We have no discussions at this stage with Tottenham, nor any other club. There is no chance of him leaving.”
