Soldado to undergo Spurs medical on Thursday

Roberto Soldado will undergo a medical at Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday after Tottenham, Valencia and his agents all agreed on a deal.

The transfer fee is €30million, which consists of an upfront payment of €12million, followed by three sets of €6million over the next few years. There had been a delay in the deal due to Soldado’s agent wanting a €350,000 payment for the whole of the striker’s contract duration at Valencia, when in reality he had only completed half of the contract. Thankfully they have now backed down on this demand and everything is moving forward.

Soldado will fly to London on Thursday morning to undergo his medical and to put pen to paper on a deal at White Hart Lane. Valencia will also confirm the arrival of former Spurs player Helder Postiga as Soldado’s replacement at the La Liga outfit.

Levy and co have negotiated well and hard with Valencia president Amadeo Salvo on bringing Soldado to Spurs – now the question remains if Gareth Bale will still be around to link up with the Spanish international.
