It’s the gooners at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night and the start of the league run in we’ve been gearing ourselves up for since virtually the start of the season. As everyone knows by now, four of our remaining six matches are against the four teams above us. How we fare in those games will define where we end up at the end of a memorable campaign. So if we do earn a Moneybags League spot we’ll have finished the task the hard way, not least as Wiley’s gratuitous booking of Wilson Palacios on Sunday (why did he yellow card him? It just seemed malicious to me) means that we’ll be without our key central midfielder. After two months reining himself in I bet Wilson couldn’t wait to start putting his best tackling foot forward again but now he’ll have to wait until Old Trafford on Saturday week.
He’s not the only loss in midfield. Niko Kranjcar limped through extra time on Sunday and is out of this one. Aaron Lennon isn’t ready to come back and neither, as far as I know, is Jermaine Jenas meaning that the out of form Tom Huddlestone and the out of position Luka Modric will likely make up the middle pairing though Redknapp will think about bringing in Kaboul as per Stoke. With Bentley on the right and Bale probably moving forward again, Assou-Ekotto should come back in on the left hand side of defence where if he looks to his right, he will hopefully see the comforting presence of Ledley King, though what condition he’ll be in not having played since Wigan away is anyone’s guess. He barely trains you know? He also rarely plays; he’s finished only nine of the 14 league games he’s started this season.

If we’ve not had enough ref troubles in the last few days, it’s Mark Clattenburg who’s in charge for this one. As well as the reverse fixture at the new Library he’s also taken us at Old Trafford, Molineux and Fulham in the cup this season. Few good omens there then.
Picking ourselves up after the disappointment of Sunday will be tricky but at least the players will know that once up they’re unlikely to slip over again. To every experienced Spurs watcher this game screams ‘uh-oh’. But this team has more about it, which is why we’re in with a shout of our best league position for twenty years. The 14th of April is the anniversary of one of the most memorable days in our history, the 3-1, double denying, victory at Wembley in 1991 and what better way to celebrate than by watching Gareth Bale make Sagna’s life a misery, SuperPav dump Scumbell’s on his fat arse, the arrogant Bendtner get riled enough to start whacking his own players again and by sticking their title hopes where they belong.
It’s 21 games and over ten years since we’ve won a league game against the smuggers, a run that’s reaching Chelsea proportions. But that sequence was ended when Chelsea were riding high and what a time it would be to do the same and bring this unholy chain of results to an end. COYS.
