Spurs keen on son of ex Manchester United defender

With Mauricio Pochettino’s willingness to promote from the youth ranks, the invevitable links to youngsters surface and the latest linked with a move to North London is the son of a former England and Manchester United defender.

Spanish newspaper Super Deporte claim that Valencia teenager Harvey Neville – the son of BBC pundit extrodinare and ex-Everton captain Phil Neville– is a target for Spurs. The article says that Phil’s old club Manchester United are also monitoring young Harvey.

The 14 year-old Neville has been playing in the youth ranks for Valencia from the time his father took up a coaching role there, and whilst Neville senior may have parted company with the Spanish side, his son has stayed on to continue his development.

The article believes  Spurs have asked about a possible move for Neville, as have Manchester United – where Phil made his name –  with both Premier League sides eager to snap the teenager up, as he is showing a lot promise in Spain.

According to the article Neville junior has the ability to cross the ball with his right foot that has seen him compared to his fathers former Manchester United team mate David Beckham. Either way he is being touted for a big future, be it in Spain or with United or Spurs.
