VIDEO: Villas-Boas displeased with United penalty

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas has labelled referee Mike Dean’s decision to award Manchester United a penalty as ‘unfair’.

Tottenham were 2-1 ahead at the time, just moments before Brazilian midfielder Sandro had put us ahead with a stunning strike from outside the box which left United keeper David De Gea with absolutely no chance.

Referee Mike Dean pointed to the spot in the second half when Welbeck went to ground under a Lloris challenge, with replays suggesting the United forward went down far too easily.

AVB told the press after the match: “So, I think it is difficult. I think it is a decision that we have to accept. I think that the ref’ wasn’t in a good position to decide the penalty. He sees it from too far off but when you stick a leg out to go forward you can easily collide with the opponents body. So I think it is a difficult call for the ref’ but I think an unfair decision.”
