Barca watched several Spurs stars

La Liga giants Barcelona are still interested in Christian Eriksen, and went to watch him against Liverpool this weekend.

Barca’s Sporting director Robert Fernandez has, according to Mundo Deportivo, been personally watching a number of Barca targets in recent weeks , and Eriksen was the latest as he and his Spurs team put Liverpool to the sword in a resounding 4-1 victory at Wembley.

The article also states that amongst other names, the the Catalans were also watching Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez and England attacking midfielder Dele Alli.

The article continues, saying Fernandez had already watched Eriksen, team-mate and man of the moment Harry Kane on Tuesday as the the duo impressed in the Champions League in the 1-1 draw against Real Madrid.

It continues saying Barca still have some of the £198m PSG paid them for Neymar and are looking to replace the Brazilian with a big name signing.

Eriksen was heavily linked to the Catalans this summer, however the Dane spoke of his desire to stay in London.

Eriksen explained: “I like living in London. I wouldn’t have extended my contract if I didn’t,” he said. “Even now you always see something new when you go into London; little shops popping up. The family have been here enough so I don’t need to show them around anymore. Playing for Spurs is special. I was saying to my girlfriend on holiday that I’d just realised it is going to be my fifth season here and it’s gone so quick.”

The inevitable transfer stories rear their ugly head. It’s all very predictable with new signing Davinson Sanchez added to the mix. Judging by Eriksen words it looks like he’s in no hurry to head off anywhere anytime soon.
