Birmingham to be priced out of Pavlyuchenko deal

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has ruled out another swoop for Roman Pavlyuchenko.
McLeish tried to sign the Spurs striker during the January transfer window, while the Russian was out of favour with Harry Redknapp but now believes that the transfer fee would be too much after his resurgence.
“His price will have gone up,” McLeish said in the Daily Mirror.
“I’ve given him too much confidence by saying I wanted him.”
