Cissokho wants French exit

As links between Tottenham and Lyon full-back Aly Cissokho refuse to go away, a new twist has been added to the tale after the players’ agent confirmed earlier tonight that his client is keen on a move away from France, with either England or Italy his preferred destination.

The France international has been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham in the press over the past few weeks and has been identified as new manager AVB’s number one candidate to strengthen Spurs’ left-back position.

This remains pure speculation as no one on the Tottenham side have came out and declared an interest in Cissokho, but the links have remained strong and only serve to get stronger after Cissokho’s agent and brother confirmed tonight that the Frenchman wants a summer move.

Mamadou Cissokho told France Football “The preference would be to depart… Aly wishes to discover a new challenge… The priority is England or Italy”.

While stating Cissokho’s desire to move on, the player’s agent also did confirm that no official offers have been made:

“There have been no concrete offers as yet, even though Lyon are keen to sell”.
