Corluka fears for Modric’s future at Spurs

Luka Modric - Tottenham Hotspur News

Vedran Corluka fears that Luka Modric could follow Harry Redknapp out of Tottenham.

Corluka spent the last half of last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen after losing his place to Kyle Walker and believes that the failure to be in the draw for next season’s Champions League will play a major factor in Modric’s decision making.

With Redknapp having already left White Hart Lane, we can expect plenty of speculation over the future of the likes of Modric, Bale and Van der Vaart.  It will be a big challenge for whoever comes in to persuade these key players to stay at the club.

“We all know it will be very difficult for Spurs to keep Luka because they do not have Champions League football next season,” Corluka is quoted as saying in The Sun.

“Luka is one of the best players in the world and the kind who wants to play in the best competition.

“Not getting into the Champions League will cost Spurs next season, even though they were unlucky to get fourth place and still not be there.”
