Cudicini thanks Daniel Levy

Carlo Cudicini has expressed his thanks to Tottenham for sticking by him after his accident.

The Italian goalkeeper was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident in November, fracturing both his wrists and his pelvis.

Carlo came on for the injured Heurelho Gomes at half time in the 4-0 Champions League win against Young Boys and admits that it was an emotional occasion.

Despite his Chelsea past, Spurs fans have taken well to Carlo and he could be set to start tomorrow’s game at the Lane if Gomes is still struggling.

“It was emotional to make my comeback, but not any more than that,” he told The Times.

“I felt sad for Gomes but for me it was nice to be selected.

“The accident and the injury are in the past. I would like to look forward now and enjoy what will be in the future.

“There are big things ahead here. Reaching the Champions League is a massive achievement.”

“I’m really grateful to the chairman (Daniel Levy) and the club,” he added.

“I’ve always believed that if you are an honest guy, you work hard and you do your job, that the rewards will come.

“I guess that is what has happened with Tottenham.”
