David Bentley could miss the start of Tottenham’s season after suffering suspected ankle ligament damage.

The midfielder limped off after just 25 minutes of Tottenham’s 4-0 win against Bournemouth and is now awaiting the results of a scan.

He is a unlikely to be fit for Tottenham’s upcoming trip to North America and will join Jamie O’Hara and Jonathan Woodgate in remaining at home.

“David might have done his ankle ligaments,” said Harry Redknapp.

“It’s blown up. He felt it go and we will wait for the scan. We are going to need the whole squad with a European campaign and matches Saturday/Wednesday every week.”

hopefully this keeps him out for a while, lennon is 10 times the player anyway

How could you hope he is out, we have allot off games coming up, are you that daft, Lennon is injury prone too, not too mention Lennon is quite often a second half sub off, Bentley stepped in for him last season, we need him their again, maybe Rose will be a permanent fixture on the bench. Great to see Pav on form, Pav Rose and Townsend really worked well together and formed a good partnership.
