Davies tipped to oust Rose as first-choice left-back

Wales boss Chris Coleman believes that Ben Davies will oust Danny Rose as Tottenham’s first-choice left-back.

Davies joining Spurs in the summer from Swansea City and has seen himself on the bench for our first three Premier League matches, with starts only in the Europa League.

Coleman claims that it may take some time for Davies to get his chance, but we all know that Rose is prone to make some big mistakes so his chance may come sooner rather than later.

Anyone who watched any of Swansea’s matches last season will know that Pochettino has made a very shrewd signing in bringing Davies to the club.

“I think Ben will end up being their first choice,” Coleman told the media.

“It is not always easy when you have a big move. Ben is a Swansea boy and we don’t tend to be great travellers when we are young.

“But he is a top player and a great lad, he will settle in there.

“Danny Rose has not done anything wrong, but all players have a bad day, and when he does and Ben gets his chance we know he is good enough.

“Mauricio Pochettino knows his stuff, he would not have spent all that money on him otherwise.

“It may take him time but I have no doubts he will make it work and play a lot of games for Tottenham.”
