Dawson ‘devastated’ for Ledley

Michael Dawson admits that he is disappointed for Ledley King after the defender picked up an injury in England’s World Cup opener against the USA.
King had to be replaced at half time after suffering a groin injury and is being assessed on a ‘day to day’ basis.
“I was devastated for Ledley,” Dawson told the club’s official site. “He’s my friend, my team-mate and I know what he’s been through to get here.
“He’s disappointed, as you’d expect. He’ll be out for Friday but hopefully not too much longer than that.
“It’s tough for him back at Spurs when he’s not training with the lads every day. I know how frustrated I get when I’m not involved like that.
“Ledley copes with it so well and he’s brilliant when he plays. It’s a real pity for him.”
