Dawson: It’s positive and it looks good

Michael Dawson is confident about his chances of being fit to face Portsmouth.

The defender injured his Achilles in the win against Everton at the end of March and will have it assessed ahead of the match at Wembley.

“I’ve been in the gym for most of the week but have been out on the training pitch as well so it’s positive and it looks good,” he said.

Dawson missed out on Spurs’ Carling Cup triumph in 2008 and lost in the final of that competition last season.  He’s hoping this season will be a different story.

“It’s fantastic and exciting to go there for a semi-final, hopefully we will be going back there in May for the final,” he added.

“Last year was a disappointment, the year before that was fantastic but I didn’t play due to injury.

“I went on the tour of Wembley when I was younger and lifted the trophy but you never think at the time you’d get that opportunity again.”
