Jermain Defoe has reportedly been ruled out for at least six weeks after injuring ankle ligaments during England’s win in Switzerland.
The Spurs striker was stretchered off during the 2-1 victory and is now set to miss Tottenham’s first three Champions League matches.
According to the Daily Mail, Defoe reported back to Spurs yesterday and had a scan on his ankle in the afternoon.
Defoe joins Michael Dawson on the sidelines after the defender damaged knee and ankle ligaments in the 4-0 win against Bulgaria on Friday.

I am one that takes great pride in the number of Spurs Players in the England Squad and find it a bit ironic that all three selected are now on the injured list. Am I glad that Cap did not choose Ledley, the Thud and Aaron.
The only good thing that might come out of this, is that Pav is likely to get an extended run, and this is where we find out if he is the real deal, or a mistake on our part. At least he has not spent the summer looking for a move
