Dele dealt three match ban

Dele Alli has been handed a three-match European ban by UEFA following his sending off in Tottenham’s Champions League defeat to Gent.

The midfielder was given his marching orders for a nasty challenge on Gent’s Brecht Dejaegere which means that Dele will miss the first three matches of European competition next season – should we qualify for the Champions League or Europa League.

A UEFA statement read: “Tottenham Hotspur FC player Dele Alli has been suspended for three (3) UEFA competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible.

“The charges related to a red card given to Dele Alli during the match.”
