Dele must learn a big lesson warns former Chelsea star

Former Chelsea and England international Frank Lampard has warned Dele Alli not to celebrate too early in future after he scored the first goal in Tottenham’s defeat to Manchester United.

The midfielder bundled the ball home after just 11 minutes of the FA Cup semi final, only for United to hit back with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera to book their place in the final against Chelsea.

Dele celebrated his goal by doing the backpack kid dance which has become a viral sensation on the internet, but Lampard hopes that the former MK Dons player will think twice about such a clever celebration early on in a match against a tough opponent.

Speaking on BT Sport, Lampard said: ‘I think Dele Alli has learned a big lesson there that don’t celebrate too early and dance too early,

‘This isn’t me being too jealous because I can’t do the floss as I’ve been reliably informed and I can’t do it but that’s not why I’m saying it.

‘I just think in a big game like that when you’ve got 80 minutes left against Manchester United, I think you’ve got to be careful.

‘You can do that for the third goal maybe in the 90th minute and I think the game changed on. It’s a small thing [and] it’s a small detail but it does matter and I think he would have learned a lesson yesterday.’
