Dos Santos moves to Racing

Giovani Dos Santos has joined Racing Santander on loan for the rest of the season.

Dos Santos joined Spurs in the summer of 2008 from Barcelona, hotly tipped for a bright future, but has failed to deliver on that promise in a Tottenham shirt so far.

The Mexican international has made just 20 appearance for Spurs in that time, scoring once and has also had loan spells with Ipswich Town and Galatasaray.

Ukrainian outfit, Dnipro had claimed to be on the verge of signing Giovani permanently, but the player has opted to return to Spain, where he will feature for La Liga strugglers Racing until the season reaches it’s conclusion.

    why is this lad not gettin a chance with us? i feel he could be a game changer, used primarily as a sub. if lennon isnt performing in a match stick gio on the right. if bale isnt performing in a match stick gio on the left. if vdv isnt performing then stick gio through the middle. there must be some off-the-pitch problem.

    This could be really good for Gio – if he can show his talent playing regularly for Racing in a Big League. A good move by Spurs – through only loaning the player we can recall him if a striker injury crisis happens. This has to be one of Gio's last opportunities to stay at Spurs permanently; lets hope he takes it.
