Everton are preparing a a January bid for Tottenham full-back, Alan Hutton.

Hutton was signed for £9m in January 2008, but if the Daily Mail is to be believed, he could cut short his stay in favour of a move to Merseyside.

The Scottish international has found himself behind the impressive Vedran Corluka this season, only managing one start so far this season.

Spurs will hope to recoup the majority of their outlay on Hutton, but the price is unlikely to match what they paid for him.

David Moyes is looking to strengthen his injury-hit squad, although funding could be an issue, despite the £24m received for Joleon Lescott in the summer.

Moyes said, “We undoubtedly would like to get some players back from injury and I would live to try and bring in one or two players in January, if I can.”

Redknapp could be prepared to let Hutton go, having signed Kyle Naughton over the summer months, as well as having Kyle Walker to come back from loan at Sheffield United.

I’d accept anything over £3.5mil for Hutton. He isn’t good enough for the Prem, although under a Scottish manager he might be ok.

why is it always money that stops everton in their tracks when it comes to signing new players, i hope moyes will not do what he does every year and that’s wait until the last minute to sign someone only for another club to snatch him from under their nose, leaving him running around like a chicken with it’s head cut trying to sign a third string player

Would anybody of any worth now consider Everton? It’s been hard enough for Moyes to persuade players to consider Everton when we were doing well season on season, but with a relegation dogfight two games away, beyond players like Hutton who can’t get a first team game elsewhere, who’d sign up? People forget prior to Yakubu’s injury a year plus ago he hadn’t scored in 10, that’s ten Premier games. We had a terrible start to this season with Nweville and Piennar available and playing, what we haven’t got is the accidentally sound balance of Lescott and Jagielka. Yobo is struggling @ present and he’s off to the Africa Nations as is Yak. and Piennar! Still no sign of Jgas or Neville to fill the gap and will Neill step up to the plate? Not on current showing. I hope Billy… can resist getting a red card again, ’cause he’s vital. Iereckon despite our ‘success’ in recent years we’ve been a fag paper away from the other half of the table @ all times, it’s just that we’ve been found out. I’m not doing the cliche of Moyes must go, but frankly he’d be better elsewhere now an a breath of fresh air @ Goodison might not be such a bad thing.

I’d accept nothing less than 7 mil. Must agree with Tom,i think Hutton will be a much better player under a Scittish manager. After all he did help us win the Carling Cup!!!!

Think you should take the money and run with Hutton.
    £3 – £5m would be a reasonable price.
