Fourth Spurs player leaves this week

Clinton N’Jie has become the latest player to depart Tottenham Hotspur after it was confirmed that he has joined Marseille on a permanent deal.

The Cameroon international moved to White Hart Lane in August 2015 for a transfer fee of £8.3million after impressing at Lyon, where he had scored 22 goals in 97 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit.

N’Jie failed to make the breakthrough at Tottenham and never started a Premier League game for us. In all, he made 8 Premier League appearances from the substitutes bench, the longest being a 79 minute display when he came on for the injured Nacer Chadli at Anfield and never scored a goal.

He was shipped off to Marseille for the 2016/17 season, where they had the option to buy the 23-year-old winger at the end of the agreement which they have now taken up. During his loan spell, he scored 4 goals in 19 appearances.

N’Jie joins Kyle Walker, Federico Fazio and Luke McGee in departing the club this week. Who knows, maybe we’re making some room for some arrivals?
