Crystal Palace’s deadline day signing Zeki Fryers believes his move to Selhurst Park will help kick-start his career.
Fryers saw limited first-team action at Tottenham Hotspur. After joining the club in 2013, he made seven league appearances and a handful in the Europa League.
The 21-year-old came to the club with a big reputation following his previous hype at Manchester United but failed to hold down a regular first-team place under AVB and Tim Sherwood. Mauricio Pochettino has seen enough to let Fryers progress his career elsewhere.
One let-back who still remains at the club is Benoit Assou-Ekotto, despite the fact he has not been named in Pochettino’s 23-man Premier League squad – when in fact he could have named up to 25 players.
“I have met Neil and he welcomed me and spoke to me about certain things on and off the pitch,” Fyers told the official Palace website.
“I know he is a great manager and he played a big part in me coming here.
“I am looking forward to working with him and getting to know my new team-mates.”

Fryers believes that Palace will help him discover his potential and admitted that the Eagles’ approach was initially a surprise.
“I found out over the weekend from my agent that there was interest,” he added.
“I heard that certain clubs were interested, but I knew Crystal Palace were the best club for me at this time of my career.
“It came out of nowhere, but I am absolutely buzzing to be here.
“It is a fresh start for me now and I can’t wait to get out on the training pitch and show what I can do.”
