Fryers already settled at Spurs

Zeki Fryers admits that he has settled well into life at Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old who can operate as a left-back or central defender caused a stir earlier this month when he joined Spurs from Standard Liege. Former boss Sir Alex Ferguson was furious that Manchester United had missed out on compensation and called for the Premier League to launch an investigation into the transfer.

Tim Sherwood, Tottenham’s head of football development has already challenged Fryers to break into the first team after watchimg him make his debut for the development side.

“It’s been great so far, mixing in with the lads and the facilities here are great to learn and to get better,” Fryers told the club’s official website.

“I knew a couple of the lads from England youth internationals and I pretty much know everyone already. I’ve just got to know the staff now. I’m very happy to be here.”

Fryers added: “It was great to play in the friendly (against Charlton) last week, playing 60 minutes and I played 90 minutes against Wolves. I’ve now got to build on that.”
