Gary Cahill - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Harry Redknapp seems to have ruled out a January move for Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

“I’m not looking to strengthen in defence, really. We are strong in defence. We have Dawson, King, Gallas, Kaboul and (Sebastien) Bassong,” said Redknapp,.

“I went for Cahill because at the time I couldn’t see Ledley being fit and because William Gallas had a calf strain.”

Id take Samba over Cahill anyday

Agreed Joe Spur. Samba is an outstanding player and we've seen him prove it at the Lane on a couple of occasions already. However, Cahill is quality too. Just take a look at the 5 centre backs we currently have as quoted by "Arry above. ALL are subject to injuries and only King Ledley is truly international class (possibly Gallas too). Dawson's a wonderful reader of the game but lacks pace. Cahill would be a steal at 8-10 mil. Can't quite figure out why we, or the South London Pikeys, didn't sign him in August? And they need him more than we do!!!!
