Gazza given drink driving charge

Former Spur, Paul Gascoigne, has been charged with drink-driving.

The former Spurs and England midfielder was arrested last month after an incident a takeaway in North Yorkshire and arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst drunk, along with another man.

Gascoigne has also been charged with driving without a licence and driving without insurance and the 42-year-old will appear before Northallerton Magistrates’ Court on April 16.

A North Yorkshire spokesman said, “Two men answered bail at Northallerton police station yesterday and were charged with a number of offences.

“The 42-year-old man was charged with drink-driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

“The 40-year-old man was charged with drink-driving, being in charge of a motor vehicle whilst over the limit, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.”

This marks another sad chapter in the demise of Paul Gascoigne, who has suffered a number of alcohol-related incidents since the conclusion of his football career.

    It hurts to see a spurs legend ending up like this, he is one of my all time great spurs player. He needs help and guidance, surely spurs could help him in some way and give him some kind of employment at the club, to keep him busy, and away from trouble.

      If you owned a business would you employ a nutcase just to 'keep him busy?' I doubt it. I love my Spurs and Gazza was a hero but the mans just a bloody embarrassment now.
