Harry Redknapp has confirmed his interest in bringing Real Madrid striker, Ruud Van Nistelrooy to Tottenham on loan.

The former Manchester United forward has fallen down the pecking order in the Spanish capital and Redknapp ahs now claimed that he wouldn’t reject such a possibility if the deal was right.

The move would only happen should Spurs offload the unhappy Roman Pavlyuchenko, who is keen to head back to Russia after a lack of first-team opportunities.

Redknapp has said he would be interested in the Dutch striker, but does not want any more than four forwards in contention at Spurs.

Redknapp said, “It’s interesting, but it depends what the deal is.

“The chairman would deal with that side, but he’s an interesting player. He was fantastic in England and a great goalscorer.

“If he was available, it could be of interest. It’s not impossible – if it was right, we could be interested.

“Pav is looking to move. He was tremendous in training this morning. Only if someone came in and it was a good offer though, otherwise it would not be possible.

“I could not have five strikers. It is difficult enough with four and I find it hard leaving one out of the picture.”
