Harry hints at O’Hara loan extention

Harry Redknapp has hinted he may allow Jamie O’Hara’s Portsmouth loan stint to be extended beyond January.

O’Hara was allowed to move to Portsmouth until the January transfer window as part of the deal that took Kevin-Prince Boateng to Fratton Park, but that was initially supposed to be the maximum length of the loan, as Redknapp wanted him back at Spurs.

Portsmouth have made noises recently about aiming to keep O’Hara for longer after a string of impressive performances in their midfield, even talking about making a permanent switch possible.

There is the option of an additional six months in the loan agreement, which could be enforced if all parties can agree on it.

And Redknapp has given some indication that he will allow the England Under 21 midfielder to extend his loan spell there.

“We’ll wait and see on Jamie.

“If we’re okay and we’ve got plenty of bodies and Jamie wants to stay and they want to keep him on loan, then something could be done.

“We’ll have a chat. If I can help anyone, I’ll help Paul Hart.”
