Can Harry Hotspur break the goalscoring record?

If Harry Kane breaks Alan Shearer’s 23-year-old record, of 36 goals in a calendar year in the Premier League, Spurs fans and neutrals alike, should be very proud they have witnessed something in top-class football, that is truly amazing!

It’s made all the more so, because Spurs have struggled this season, losing five games already, but Harry Kane has still managed to equal Alan Shearer’s record so far, and I really hope he goes on to break it! Being the true professional he is, I believe his nerves will hold out, even if he has to take a penalty.

Another feat he stands to achieve if he scores 2 more goals, is to go one above Lionel Messi’s calendar total in all competitions this year, Harry is already equal with Ronaldo, Lewandowski, and Cavani on 53 goals, but they have finished playing for this year!

Playing at Wembley against Southampton side who are without a number of key-players, looks on paper, like the ideal opportunity for Harry Kane to score, but football doesn’t always provide the results people expect.

However, if he wants to break records, and be named alongside or even above, some of the all-time greats of the game, he still has to bury the few chances he gets in this final fixture of 2017.

Come on Harry, break that record and do yourself and Spurs proud!
