Roman Pavlyuchenko

Roman Pavlyuchenko has once again insisted that he wants to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Russian striker has drifted in and out of the Spurs team during his three years at White Hart Lane and was heavily linked with a move to Spartak Moscow.

Pav’s agent insists that talks over a contract extension will take place when the squad arrive back in London from their pre-season tour of South Africa.

“We haven’t talked about Roman’s future with Tottenham yet,” said Oleg Artemov.

“The team is in South Africa at the moment and then we’ll negotiate about his contract extension.

“We don’t care about any other offers because Roman wants to stay in London. His heart belongs to Tottenham.”

Touching. He's still our best striker, but it's not exactly our strongest feature.
  2. James says:
Excellent news, the only striker in our side with genuine talent. Just wish he could show it more.
  3. Jimmo says:
Good. He can play, like Keane and Gio is a geniune talent and needs faith and game time, which all three have inexplicibly lacked.
  4. Indyfan says:
Keep him Sell the other three. Buy Vicinic and Daimio. QED.
  5. Shady says:
It’s good news but not exactly great news, Pav is our best striker but that really isn’t saying much.
  6. TMWNN says:
Another lazy player with his feet under the table happy to pick up a good wage for doing fuck all.

We need to clear his ilk out, not reward them with new contracts.

    Well overrated.

@tmwnn, couldn’t of said it better myself WELL over rated,

we need a striker that is far more consistent!! and he ain’t our best striker Defoe is u got 2 remember how much of last season he missed through injuries so i’d get rid of crouch and Keane and give pav 1 more season 2 prove he can be consistent and bring in 1 top class striker…..

  8. JoeSpur says:
Pav is good without being great. He scored more than Defoe Crouch and Modric combined while playing less games than each of them and he is staying loyal dispite being treated like crap. Hes hardly on big wages here, he would get about the same in his native Russia so the money comment is nonsense. Id give him another season.

Says who? So says his agent .Haven.t we heard this before from keane and modric? Don't trust all these pea brain footballers. Those with short memories, let me remind you that Pav even before he had finished a full season at Spurs already confessing of his dream of playing for Manu.Anyway, he is just simply not good enough for us to sustain a top 4 challenge. His confession of love is simply down to lack of offers from a 'bigger' club.
  10. Terry says:
Play him alongside Keane which Harry has never done, move Defoe onto Arsenal in exchange for arshavin, move Crouch out, bring in Leandro =striker problem solved.
  11. Roy Singh says:
Pav's comments are sympathetic. He has been given a fair amount of playing time, just like the other strikers, but has not taken the chances to go the extra mile. I was not impressed with his run out in S. Africa at all.
  12. AntiOnan says:
Give him a season of regular football and then comment.
Even Forlan took a full two seasons of regular football to come good for both his club and internationally.

As for the "truth" or his "intelligence": if you believe anything that the media prints then you have problems with both of them.
