Hiddink reiterates Pav needs to play more

Guus Hiddink has once again given his opinion on Roman Pavlyuchenko’s position at Spurs.

Hiddink has frequently requested that Pavlyuchenko gets more first team action at Spurs, or move on and has insisted that Pavlyuchenko will need more match practice if he is to be part of Russia’s World Cup squad, should they make it.

And Hiddink has claimed Pavlyuchenko can only expect a bit-part role in the play-offs against Slovenia this month, due to his lack of playing time.

“I’m seriously concerned about his position at Spurs. Perhaps he should think about how he can get more playing time.

“But despite all his problems with match practice, Roman has some special qualities: in almost every match he has one or two chances to score, and he often takes them. Therefore, we shouldn’t exclude him from the national team completely. If the match against Slovenia is not going our way, Pavlyuchenko should get his chance.

“Of course, it’s not my business to determine what Pavlyuchenko should do in the future. Maybe he still has a place at Tottenham, but I certainly would like him to play more often.”

    Pav shd be ahead of Keane atleast in the pecking order. If we start Defoe and Crouch against Sunderland, then Pav shd be brought in if there is a need for change, and not Keane. I think he should spend 90mins on the bench for a change. He is like a lost pigeon in the middle of the park! If Pav is not ahead of Keane, then he should leave in Jan for his future’s sake.

    Agree…….Pav should be given a chance to make a run in the team…..either as 1st sub option or first team player. Had given Keane too much chances and he did not shine at all. Thus, Keane did not earn the right for a starting berth and it’s time to give Pav a chance….Keane waste too many chances before he scores one and it is usually a goal resulted from penalty, luck and defending error.

    This is what happens when you have the massive conflict of interests Hiddink has.
    Commenting on one role directly reflects badly on another.
    He should face FA action for his comments.
