Hugo the record breaker

Hugo Lloris set a new record in last weekends victory over Huddersfield.

Lloris’ shut out means he has overtaken Ian Walker as the goal keeper with most clean sheets for the club in the Premier League era.

That victory over Huddersfield saw clean sheet number 63 for Hugo as a Spurs player, a new club record in the top flight for a Spurs goalkeeper.

The Frenchman has already achieved four clean sheets this season and Saturday’s took him beyond Ian Walker’s 62, set from the very first season of the Premier League in 1992-93 to 2001.

Former England goalkeeper Walker came through the youth ranks at White Hart Lane, making 313 appearances between his debut against Norwich City in 1991, and his final match against the hammers in January, 2001.

Lloris joined us from French side Lyon in August, 2012. He reached the 200-appearance mark for us last season and added to that bringing his total so far 220 appearances for us in all competitions.

Saturdays demolition of Huddersfield Town was his 13th in his last 24 matches in the Premier League and nine in his last 16.
