Harry Redknapp suggested Ledley King’s World Cup future could be decided today.

He told talkSPORT on Monday morning: “I spoke to our physio last night, Wayne Diesel. Wayne is out in South Africa, he’s gone over there to be around the England camp.

“I don’t think we’ll see Ledley again if he’s struggling to play.

“They are getting the result back from the scan today, but if there’s a tear in the groin that would make it difficult for him.

“That’s the problem for him, when you don’t train and have to play at that top, top class level you’re going to pick up injuries.”

    If you are Ledley King, and have ambitions to play for England, this is NOT the sort of things you want to hear from your club manager. Need another CB at Spurs. Ledley will be 30 this year, and there are only so much he can get away with this. We cannot rely on him as England have found out – it may be a freak thing, but as he gets older and trains less – things will happen. I am NOT saying replace him, but we cannot assume that he will be fit. I do NOT want to play Kaboul or Corluka in centre defence. King, Dawson, Woody, Bassong + one other. King is still superb when fit.

    I feel so mnuch pain for Ledders, he is the greast Tottenham player/servant i have had the pleasure to watch grow and develop. Without a shadow of a doubt if Ledders didn´t have his knee problem he would be the #1 name on not only the Spurs teamsheet but also the national team. A true legend who i will nevewr forget nor criticise. I hope one day he comes back to manage or coach our great team (once retired)

    I agree Stuart.. 3 weeks they're saying he'll be sidelined for. Absolutely heart-broken for the lad. He'll just have to compensate for the disappointment by lifting the Champions League trophy with the Lilywhites next year!

    C'mon Ledley! In King we trust!! I hope to see you out there (at the WC) again. England need the worlds best CB/Defender. Let's hope its just a 'bug'. Cheers.

    Feel sorry for Ledley,but look at it from a different angle,it's not a total disaster :
    1. Ledley had his WC game
    2. Time to get a real long break for next season
    3. Dawson might get a chance to have his WC game
