Kane hints at change of direction

After suffering an eighth successive FA Cup semi-final defeat and another trophyless season, Harry Kane has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur may need to review the mentality of the squad to help the players go in another direction and actually win some trophies.

Along with the disappointment of the FA Cup exit, Spurs also blew a fantastic opportunity to progress in the Champions League but allowed Juventus to steal the second leg away from them.

It all looked so promising at Wembley on Saturday when Dele Alli bundled the ball home to give us the lead, but in typical fashion we allowed the opposition back into the game of which Manchester United took advantage of with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera.

Kane admits that to keep coming so close to silverware is frustrating and something which needs to be sorted out,

“It could be,” Kane told the press when he asked if mentality could be the difference between winning and losing key games.

“There’s obviously a reason why we’re falling short in the semifinals, or in the big games. So we have to do better.

“I wouldn’t be able to tell you exactly what it is. But it’s frustrating. It’s frustrating personally, it’s frustrating for the team. But yeah, we just have to find our way around it.

“It’s annoying. It’s hard to put a finger on why. But we weren’t good enough. It was an even game. They got their noses in front and that was the end of it.”
