Kane: Spurs have what money cannot buy

Harry Kane has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur have something which other teams cannot buy, a great team bond.

The Spurs striker has praised manager Mauricio Pochettino for instilling a brotherhood between the players as the club look to build on the success of last season.

New signings Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama have both adapted well in their early days at White Hart Lane, with Wanyama scoring the winning goal against Crystal Palace on Saturday as Spurs took their Premier League tally to four points out of six.

While the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea continue to throw the chequebook at trying to progress, Mauricio Pochettino holds the value of squad unity at the forefront of his plans.

“We have got a great team. The manager has brought a couple of new signings in. We have got a great team bond,” Kane said.

“We went through a lot last year, both highs and lows, so we have got that experience together. The gaffer has created a family atmosphere, a brotherhood between the players.

“Teams that buy a lot of players feel like they need to change something. The manager has felt we did not need to change too much.

“We have got a great core. Let the talk be about everyone else, like it was last season, and we will just keep doing what we are doing.”

Tottenham’s slow start last season ended up costing them dear in the title race but victory over Palace means Pochettino’s men have taken four points from their opening two games.

“We said before the game that we do not want to fall too far behind the leaders already,” Kane said.

“There are some top teams in the Premier League this season and we have got to try and stay up the top.

“Last season I do not think we won for the first four games and we wanted to put that right.”
