King to be rested for Champions League tie

News | idv | August 16, 2010 at 11:38 am

Sebastien Bassong is expected to start for Spurs in Tuesday night’s Champions League game against Young Boys of Berne.

The first leg which takes place in Switzerland is played on Astroturf and Harry Redknapp is not willing to risk the fitness of Ledley King by playing him on such a surface.

We all know the problems Ledley has had with his knee and Harry is definitely making the right decision in resting his skipper, plus it will mean he is fresh for Saturday’s trip to Stoke.

“The game in Berne is on Astroturf. It could ruin his knee,” said Redknapp.
