Spurs defender faces lengthy injury spell

Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton faces a period on the sidelines after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The right-back picked up the injury in the 32nd minute of our 1-0 win against Southampton at White Hart Lane and was replaced by Eric Dier.

Mauricio Pochettino started the Premier League campaign with Naughton at right-back at West Ham United, only for the 25-year-old to be harshly sent off.   Dier has slotted well into right-back, especially with Kyle Walker yet to play a minute of football this season due to injury.

With a trip to the Ethiad Stadium facing Tottenham next Saturday, Pochettino and his players will be looking for a better result than the embarrasement we faced under AVB up there last season.

Slightly more worrying is the fact that Hugo Lloris has picked up a groin niggle during training while on internatioanl duty for France, we’ll certainly need him fit next weekend!
