Lawro predicts Spurs to lose to Villa

BBC football pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will lose to Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
He told BBC Sport Online: “This is a Tottenham team that just takes sides on, full stop. They have a lot of attacking options on the bench – better than any other side in the Premier League – but, defensively they can have a bad day.
“Villa boss Gerard Houllier changed things around a little bit in their last game, against West Brom, and will have been boosted by winning that – they badly needed it.
“Spurs remain on the fringes of the title race, and I just think the demands of the Champions League with the amount of games they have to play, means they will be found a little bit short in terms of making the top four.
“Prediction: 2-1.”

The bloke is an idiot. We may lose, I don’t think we will, but if we do it will have nothing to do with the CL.
So the highlights which including this weeks predictions are:
The top 4 are the current top 4 (no shocks there), however the order is slightly different but it's quite close.
Now the funny bit… Liverpool sit in 5th with 37 points having only lost 1 game this season , they are followed by Everton in 6th on 36 points and then finally Spurs in 7th on 28 points. Other notable placings are West Ham in 10th on 23 points and Blackpool last with 8 points.
And this is the BBC’s so called football expert. The guy is a numpty with Liverpool rose tinted specs.

It seems reasonable that the top teams are predicted to win more than they actually do, because they are the favourites in each game. The Liverpool case is telling, however. Lawro has a large discrepancies on Everton and Blackpool too.

I predict: Aston Villa 0-1 Spurs. It will be a very tight game but a late goal on the 85th minute from Van der Vaart will give us the win.
