Lawro predicts Spurs to beat Aston Villa

BBC football Pundit Mark Lawrenson has predicted that Tottenham Hotspur will beat Aston Villa.

He told BBC Sport Online: “I was very impressed with how Tottenham dealt with the challenge of Leeds on Wednesday and they will throw everything at Villa. But these sorts of games suit Villa because of the way they play on the counter-attack.

“But I think striker Jermain Defoe looks so sharp, his partnership with Peter Crouch has improved and winger David Bentley’s form has improved. I think they’ll be a real handful for Villa’s back four.

“Verdict: 2-1.”

    I’m not sure I’m as confident as lawro. We do seem to struggle to score against villa. I shall be there as always cheering the lads on from the Paxton. I’ll also add that I have been very impressed with bentley’s recent form. Keep it up son.

    Along with Hansen those two scousers know bugger all. I would be pleased with a draw as Villa are top class at the moment, but really a game we need to win.

    COYS, We were all over them at Villa Pk and played some of the best football away this season, its only in the last 10 mins that we lost our way with the crowd and an early goal we should be alright.

    I think all the chances we have had at home in the last 6 home games means we will do the same here, with villa going for the win i am sure we will find space and more luck i think Super spurs will score a hat full. Instead of every chance being saved, hitting posts, bars, lucky defenders and keepers i actually think this game they are all going to hit the back of the net,

    Spurs 7 (seven)- villa 1 and not because Villa are a bad side (quite the opposite) just because our luck with chances will change.

    Of course we can win. Yes we’ve missed Lennon but we seem to be learning how to play without him. We should have trounced this lot at Villa Park and too many games have slipped by recently where we could have, and should have, scored a hat full. It’s gonna click soon and I predict another Wigan sooner or later. Maybe not tomorrow but soon. I’m with Lawro, we’ll wrap this one up.
