Lloris happy with battling point

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris admitted a draw was the right result after his side were pegged back by Besiktas.

Harry Kane put Spurs ahead in their Europa League Group C clash before Lloris took over, making fine save after fine save.

He was beaten with a minute to go, though, when Demba Ba scored from the penalty spot after a Vlad Chiriches handball to secure a 1-1 draw.

“It was a tough game against a big Turkish team, both teams deserved the draw,” the France goalkeeper told ITV4.

“It’s football. Sometimes you don’t play a good game and you have to know how to win. Today we were close but conceded a penalty. It’s a good thing to learn.”

For his part, Kane felt Spurs deserved to win.

“I think we might have come away with the win and to concede late is very unfortunate,” he said.

“The lads dug deep and it’s unfortunate we conceded.”
